Not an Apple-designed iPhone 4G

With all those rumors flying around that a speculated hardware resemblance of the iPhone 4G has been available through the net. I just wonder, if did really Apple designed such Hardware? The way it looks like, it doesn’t look as slick and as “smooth” as the previous iPhones that they’ve released. The first thing caught my attention looking at the speculated image of the iPhone 4G, was those buttons on one of its side (it’s quite annoying that Apple would consider such design whereas most of Technology Companies nowadays are making the most out of the “touchscreen” Technolgy).

Well, for those who’ve seen it and knowing how Apple advances its designs every time they will release something in the market, then you know that it’s not what you call as an “Apple-Technology”.

SONY’s Smartphone will challenge iPhone

"Sony is busy working on a smartphone, that can
download and play Playstation games that they're hoping will
challenge the iPhone." -Wall Street Journal

Well, this is something for those video-game geeks to "chew on". Just these past few months, rumors popped out about the PSP Phone/PSPhone.
Recently, Wall Street Journal posted a statement which somehow justified the said rumor. The newspaper also mentioned that the giant Japanese company Sony is working on a new tablet project and both of these products will be linked to Sony Online Service, which will offer movies, music, podcast, Playstation games and more to download. Thus, the games should be older titles released for the original PSOne game console.

With Sony’s brand new offerings (PSP Go sales 50% underneath
Estimates) being rather next par, it is tough to get vehement about anything
entrance down their pipe. That, however, did not stop a Wall St. Journal from
articulate about their brand new Sony leaks : Threatened by Apple Inc.’s flourishing fast of unstable devices,
Sony Corp. is building a brand new lineup of handheld products,
together with an intelligent phone able of downloading and personification
PlayStation games, according to people informed with a matter. The Japanese wiring hulk additionally has a plan underneath approach to rise a
unstable device which blurs distinctions between a netbook, an e-reader and a
PlayStation Portable, or PSP . The device is written to contest opposite
multifunction products such as Apple’s entrance iPad tablet, these people said.

"We missed the window for high-end and touchscreen
devices big time. Part of the recovery will be much better design and closer
work with our partner Sony... In the past there was no tie-up between us,
the PSP platform and Sony, but you can expect to hear much more about that." –Bert Nordberg, President of Sony

PSP Go

PSP Go is on store shelves alongside the older PSP-3000 model. But everyone still wants to know if the PSP2 will become a reality, and the latest piece of news essentially confirms the new handheld's existence.
According to BSN, the new generation of portable technology from Sony will indeed arrive next year and feature PowerVR SGX543 graphics. We learn that past rumors were also mostly true, as their sources tell us the PSP2 has been in development since 2008 and exactly one year ago today, Sony unofficially announced the selection of Imagination Technologies' SGX graphics processor. Earlier today, we heard something similar in regards to the potential tech leaks for the PS4 and new PSP, which is starting to become clearer and more legitimate. It also seems obvious that Sony will push forward with the freshly released PSP Go and replace the PSP-3000 with the PSP2...although we're starting to wonder if the PSP Go will have enough going for it to compete with the new portable option. Either way, it's going to be an interesting year for handheld electronic units. BSN says they know when Sony plans to put the PSP2 on store shelves but will only say it'll launch within "the next 12 months."

One thing to consider is the price; it will be a definite factor as well; the $250 price tag for the PSP Go hasn't gone over well. The PSP®go system is small but mighty. Built-in Wi-Fi* lets you download whatever you want, the second you want it, including hundreds of full games, add-ons, free demos, comics, and the latest movies and TV shows from PlayStation®Store. Save everything directly to your giant 16GB hard drive: no need to carry around handfuls of game disks and memory sticks, although the Memory Stick MicroTM is always there if you need more room. Join online multiplayer games and use built-in Bluetooth support to connect to a wireless headset or call friends’ PSP® systems, cell phones and landlines using our built-in Skype™** connection. Squeeze all those features into a space 43% smaller than the original PSP®system, add an ultra-crisp 3.8 inch LCD screen, high quality graphics, and robust game-play and you get the full experience of a console, but playable anywhere and everywhere.

Want to have a 3D movie experience at home?

3D movies are most likely a success nowadays, considering the difference between 2D and 3D viewing experience. As proven by CES 2010, manufacturers are ready to sell 3D gear, but that doesn't essentially means that consumers are ready to dig it. The consumer electronics industry believes that the success of 3D movies like "Avatar" will get people pumped up for another upgrade cycle, but with plenty of people just getting HDTVs within the last few years, it's likely to be a tough sell. We have expressed our own skepticism and seen plenty of 3D-hate in the comments, but it's worth pointing out that we saw that same kind of comments when Blu-ray came out.

Generally, we are much more dubious about the success of 3D than we were about Blu-ray, but it's easy to get caught up in the hasty response that nobody will care about a new home video format. Meanwhile, there have been several home video formats that were never widely adopted: Betamax, LaserDisc, and D-VHS spring to mind. (Some even thought that DVD would fail.) It seems that even successful new video formats go through the same stages: first there's disbelief that people will care about the new technological advantages, then it's too costly, then there's not enough media, then finally (considering that its success) grudging recognition.
